Setting up Dynamic DNS Using Opnsense native Backend

So I have a wildcard domain that I would like to update via Dynamic DNS on deSEC.
However, I have handed DNS Management to deSEC, as I am using my own domain from another registrar

Whenever, I try to put in my wildcard domain as a username it doesn’t work alongside it being in the hostname section.

Please can somebody help, as I have tried a combination of things but they don’t seem to work.

Below I have provided a picture of what is required. So if I need to fill in that would be helpful.

Put your wildcard hostname in the “Hostname(s)” field: *.example.com
Put your API token in the “Password” field.
Leave the Username field empty.

Alternatively, create a non-wildcard record as your dynamic DNS hostname and update it the usual way, with the hostname in the “Hostname(s)” field and in the “Username” field. Then set a wildcard CNAME record to that hostname.
